They may be <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jrn.columbia.edu\/studentwork\/cns\/2002-03-20\/244.asp\">almost extinct<\/a> here in North America, but in <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalgeographic.com\/news\/2002\/08\/0826_020827_mountainpop.html\">other parts of the world<\/a> they&#8217;re thriving.  You can still see evidence of their craft in the <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.archaeology.org\/online\/features\/ads\/\">ghost signs<\/a> in <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.davetill.com\/torontoghostsigns\/ghost01.htm\">your<\/a> <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.texasescapes.com\/Signs\/GhostSignsInTexas.htm\">own<\/a> <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theletterheads.com\/lhparts\/ogdenutah.html\">town<\/a> or <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.afiler.com\/photos\/painted\/\">on the web<\/a>.  In some cases you can even see <a target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/www.livinggoldpress.com\/ghost.htm\">old layers showing through<\/a> under new ones.
